My OEM version of Office has expired. I use Works since it has all the
features that I need. When I start any program in office it tells me that it
has expired and I will have limited features. Does anyone what features are
available? I just want to keep the programs in order to be able to read
documents created for them.

If you had a full version of Office then, providing it was activated (and
some OEM licences don't require activation) it shouldn't "expire" - sounds
to me as though your system came with an Office 2003 trial which lasts
between 60 and 120 days. Now it's expired you can view already created
documents and that's about it. You may not edit, save or print.

In reduced functionality mode:
• You cannot create any new documents.
• You can view existing documents but you cannot edit them.
• You can print documents but you cannot save them.

Isn't that - more or less - what I said? ;o)

Although, it appears that he is talking about two different programs here.
He said that his office OEM version expired but also he said that he is using
works for document creation. Works and Office are two different programs. I
agree that if he didn't register the software that he is only going to have
so many uses for it. It is as simple as calling Microsoft's registration
line and get that done in 10 minutes.

I should have been clearer. I have both the OEM versions of Works and
Office. I have a license for Works and use it. I only had a trial for Office
and I don't really need it for creating documents.

I will keep Office since many web pages and email attachments are written
using it and I need to be able to read them. I just don't want to pay over
$100 to be able to read documents.

Thanks for your help.
