I am running 2000 and this past Saturday morning when I
booted up my computer was very very sluggish. Took about
30 minutes to get to the desktop. Everything was in
slomo. Processor was pegged at 100% all of the time. We
used McAfee to locate five virus' and removed them but
some of the 2000 files were corrupted. We did a repair of
2000 last night and everything seems cool except my
previous install of Office XP Professional is missing. I
keep getting a window asking me to place the XP CD in the
drive which I do but it then says it can't find a file
named "Proret.msi". I did a search and can't find it
anywhere. I don't even see a folder named Office XP.
I went to remove the program in the Control Panel. It
shows the program there but when I select the Remove
option it again ask for the disk and nothing happens.
When I put the disk in the CD drive it isn't even read.
I need Word and Excel for my business. How can I get my
programs back?
Thanks in advance.
