Office 12.0.1 update still has "502" permissions errors!

Well, *some* of it is corrected. Anybody else see this?


According to Mactopia, these folders have the "502" owner after the GM
install:

"/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008"
"/Library/Automator"
"/Library/Fonts/Microsoft"
"/Library/Application Support/Microsoft"


After the AutoUpdate 2.1.1 update and then the 12.0.1 update...

"/Library/Automator" is OK (all files owned by "root")

/LIbrary/Fonts/Microsoft is *NOT* OK -- all files still owned by "502".

"/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008" is *partially* OK:

the autoupdate folder perms are incorrect still:

I don't know if this will solve your issue, Steve.

I have experienced permission problems in the Application folder since
updating to 10.5 Leopard. I attempted to use the "new and easy" update
method. It choked. After running a "install and archive" installation,
the OS installed as it should. However, every file in my Applications
folder was given unexpected permission assignments.

My fix is to open the Office folder inside the Application folder and
choose "Get info."

Add your name to the list and give yourself read and write permissions.

Then choose "apply to enclosed items'".

That's it.
