office 2000 Can I delete it and just install Microsoft Word

Can I delete Office 2000 and install MIcrosoft Word as a stand alone program,
from the same CD.

I'm not saying this is going to happen to you but it seems that when a lot
of people do something similar, they end up posting about issues they are
having. Is there a reason why you can't just "pretend" the other programs
aren't there and not use them?
