Office 2000 installation

hi,

i encountered an error(msieexec.dll encountered a problem and needs to
close) while installing Office 2000 premium edition on my windows xp sp2..i
was unable to completely install it..after encountering the error, the
installation wizard stopped...but the ms office seems to be installed on my
pc because all the programs appear in the start>program files...
i was able to open the applications and create documents..after a few
days(10days maybe) all the applications were deleted..it was
uninstalled..this occured when i was using my computer, it automatically
uninstalled without prompting me..

any help will be greatly appreciated..

thanks for the response..
will the problem be resolved if i reinstall my os(windowsxp sp2)?
