Office 2000 --> Office 2003

Steve

I recently updated from Office Professional 2000 to Office Professional 2003.
I did NOT delete 2000 prior to installing 2003. All of my 2003 applications
appear to work correctly and I have had minimal problems using 2000 files.

My problem is that when attempting to load other programs, I now often get a
message telling me that the feature I am looking for has not yet been
installed and I need to load my 2000 installation disk. Nothing I do in
response to the error message seems to work. I have tried loading my 2000
installation disk (which I still have); loading my 2003 installation disk;
and ignoring the message ... all with the same results. The application I am
attempting to load simply locks up.

Help!!

What application? What other programs? Can you be specific?

You might also check your Windows Control Panel to confirm what the system
thinks is installed. You might then uninstall any Office 2000 component that
you don't need installed.

If you're still seeing it, try this article, which refers to a utility that
allows you to remove old registry entries related to Office 2000.

If that doesn't help, post the exact error message you receive, and what
you've tried to resolve the matter. Providing your operating system wouldn't
hurt, either.
