Office 2000 Professional install error 2755

Internal error 2755: when trying to install office 2000
on windows xp pro.....office installs partially then
gives this error...cant install.

This is first time install on this computer

Dodgy disk? Dodgy M$ Installer 2.0 problem? Have you run
any updates on XP? Do you have Admin rights to the PC?
