Office 2000 Proofing tools

Janxyz

For Office 2003 the proofing tools have to be licenses seprately, even if you
buy the multi-language version of Office.

However a few years ago for Office 2000 the proofing tools were included in
the mulit-lingual version of Office.

Was this change introduced with the newer version of Office or has this been
changed later as part of general changes ?

What are the current rules for licensensing the proofing tool for version
2000 (today) and 2003 ?

Thanks for bringing some light into this.

Hi Jan,

The MS Office Enterprise (volume license only)
edition for 2003 that contains the Multi User Interface
packs also still contains the Proofing tools.

MS Office 2000, 2002 (XP) and 2003 editions of the
proofing tools are separate purchases for use with
retail, academic and OEM editions of MS Office and
are specific to each Office series.
