Office 2000 Service Pack 3 Installation

I had a major meltdown and had to re-install Windows XP Pro. I have
completed all the Windows updates (including XP Service Pack 3) and have
re-installed my Office 2000 program. After confirming my legal copy, Office
Service Pack 1 installed just fine. When I try to install Office 2000 SP3,
however, it fails to install. I have tried to perform this repeatedly
(including the option to download larger files to avoid needing to use my
original Office disk) but without success.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

This is from memory but I believe that there is a "1a" which contains the
installer you need to install SP3. What exactly is the error you are
getting?

Thanks for the reply Earle!

I have fixed the problem. Instead of using the Office site to analyze and
install the update, I was able to download the "fullfile" version and run
from there.

I had a similar problem with two of the security updates after getting SP3
installed -- had to go the same route to download the KB fullfile versions.
Was successful.

Thanks again!

You shouldn't have to install these updates manually. Everything points to
your installer being missing. I believe it is in SP1a. I am surprised that
Office Update didn't download it for you.

Cheers,

Earle
