Office 2000 sp3 update problems

I have just upgraded my office 2000 installation on W2K to SP3 and it
don't work. I get a error message from word, excell and Power Point
"Unable to read File" and it will not go any further. It resembles a
antivirus problem, mentioned on symantec and MS. Trouble is we use
Norton AV coorporate edition and the fix does not cover this.
Any ideas anyone. I would just revert back to SR1, but I have a third
party software that requires sp3

If Norton AV was installed at one time then we've found the DLL for
the Office Plug-in is still registered.

Search for : officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Here is a KB article that provides a few additional details. It does
not include information on Norton CE but it will contain additional
details on the unregister command if you need them:
