I've been having the exact same problem. The only
difference is that I'm running XP Pro. I've tried several
different times to install SR3 with the same results each
time. I went to the MS troubleshooting page and ended up
ordering the install CD. Ha! All it had was the same file
that was already downloaded to my pc that won't install. I
thought that maybe it would actually open up and run. My
mistake.
I just tried again a few times. I even put the Office 2K
install CD in before trying, and it still didn't work.
I'd really appreciate knowing what needs to be done to get
this to finally install. Seems that there are an awful lot
of problems related to this.
