Office 2000 to Office 2003 upgrade issues

We upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003 on five machines. Microsoft word
will now lcok up while typing or doing other function like merging. It will
show the hour glass and not respond to any commands or keyboard input. This
can last 2-3 minutes or just remain in the hour glass mode.

What are some possible solutions other than losing your worka nd rebooting.

Microsoft has issued KB article 826840 "How to troubleshoot problems when
you start or work in Word 2003" which may be of some help here.

I would have provided the url if it was still available online, but alas, it
currently is not. If you can lay your hand on any TechNet cd newer than July
2004 you are likely to find the article on it.
