office 2000 un-install, re-install problems

Word 2000 was installed on my computer - no longer have CD for this. Now have
Office 2000 professional but CD1 will not install as am told that previous
version still exists. Have tried to un-install previous version through
control panel but only given option to install. When select install it won't
presumably because CD I have is different from one originally used to install
Word 2000! Help!
