Office 2000 update SP3 requesting Outlook disk

D

Dawn Chere

I have Office 2000 i have downloaded both versions of the Office 2000 SP3
both are requiring the Outlook 2000 cd. I do not have this I was given the
Homeware Program for MS office 2000 Standard edition by the company I work
for. It has outlook with it but I only find the one data.msi file on the
disk. It is looking for a different one I guess because when I specify the
file it still wants the outlook cd.

Open to suggestions on what avenue to take now.

I'm going nuts.

Hi Dawn,

Is it asking for an Outlook 2000 version
or a newer version of Outlook?

If it's looking for Outlook 2000 then check
in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control
panel to see if there is a separate listing for
Outlook 2000. If so you can uninstall that one,
then use the Office 2000 listing to set the Outlook 2000
copy there to be the active one or ask your
company for the CD for Outlook.

Data1.MSI is the name of the primary file on
each copy of MS Office 2000 series products.
While the file name is the same between products
the actual files are different and not interchangable.
