office 2000 upgrade problem

K

KenK

I am donating my old windows 98 second edition
operating system computer to a friend. I want to keep the
operating system and windows office 2000 upgrade on it. I
deleted too much and the office program will not work. It
appears to be installed properly, as I can open the
program with the disk in the cd-rom drive. I get an error
message when I try to open the program from the desktop.

The object that
"C:\Windows|Desktop\Microsoft Word(Excel, etc.).lnk refers
to has been removed or is unacceptable."
I cannot find the oroiginal office disks that came with
the computer, I just have the 2000 upgrade disks.
