Office 2000/Windows 98 Problem

I have a client who has about 20 machines all with a
mixture of machines running Windows 98, Windows 2000 and
Windows XP. They run an Access 2000 database on all these
machines. The problem is with the Windows 98 machines.
When they search for a record using the Find dialog box it
works a few times and then after about three searches they
get a message saying

“The expression is typed incorrectly, or is too complex to
be evaluated. For example, a numeric expression may
contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying
the expression by assigning parts of the expression to
variables.”

When OK is clicked another message appears saying

“Object invalid or no longer set!”

When OK is clicked here the same message box appears and
the only way to exit this is to press ctrl + alt + delete.

On the Windows 2000 and Windows XP machines this does not
happen.

Office 2000 has been updated with the latest service packs
eg. Office SP3 and the latest MDAC(2.7) and also the
latest jet (SP7). Does anyone know why this is happening?
Is there an update I have missed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards
