Office 2000 with ME fails?

Hi,
I am using ME.
The recent upgrade of MS-Office don´t do it anymore
although Service Packet 3 and installer 2.0 is installed.
I see a dialogbox from MS Office hotfix installer "The
update cannot be applied" ...

I saw that a lot of users having problems with XP and 2000
but what about ME together with Office 2000

Somebody any idea?

I installed all four office updates in the last three days. Everything is
working fine. When you down loaded the updates was your virus scanner
disabled, if not you may want to try the updates again with it disabled. I
run Win ME SP1, Office Small Business 2000 SP3.
Were any of your office products active at the time, that may cause a
problem. my version of the installer 2.0.2600.2.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I tried without the virusscanner
even firewall and DAP the result is the same.
The installer has the same version the only change is that
I am using Office Professional and no there were no office
programma´s open at that time.
Do you know what is Ms Office hotfix installer? Is that
the famous installer?
I really have no idea what could be wrong...any further
tips?

I don't know what it is. But I noticed I now have a folder under program
files called Office Update 11 created last Saturday. I think thats the day I
downloaded the first office patch. Also still have the office update folder.
Not sure why there are two unless a new office updater was installed. Sorry
I cannot help more.

I have the folder Office Update 11 also.
When and how it happened i don´t know but 2 out of 3
remaining patches are installed by now.
Only the convertion one for Wordperfect is still open
(less important)
I see that a lot of users are focusing the same problem.
By now i stop looking further too it.

could you tell me how you look to see what version of
installer you have -- I tried to install the latest (2.0)
and the message that popped up said it was already
installed..but I still want to check!!
