Office 2000 won't install

I just had to reformat my C: drive and am in the process of installing my
software and have hit a snag. I am trying to install Office 2000 standard,
my operating system is Windows XP Home. Half way through the install I get a
message that Office needs files from the Windows XP Professional service
pack 2. I only have the XP Home service pack 2. I have tried to find the
pack on the Microsoft web site but no luck. I email Microsft and was told
that I needed Windows XP service pack 2, which I have already tried to no
avail. Does anyone have any ideas?

Since you've reformatted your system, you need to make sure that you have
*all* of the appropriate service packs downloaded, and that includes the
ones that were just released the other week.

The fact that you are trying to install Office *2000*, which predates
Windows XP, tells me that you may have misread the error message.

I have all service packs and current updates; my computer does it
automatically and I check the web site.

I have not misread the error message, the following is the exact message:

Windows File Protection
Windows files must be installed for your installation to proceed. Insert
your Windows XP professional service pack 2 CD now.

I do not have a professional version of windows or XP, and when I do not
insert the required CD installation stops and gives me error message 1933.

I have tried to use my regular copy of windows XP SP-2 but it will not
accept it.

I did a quick search on MS's site on Error 1933 and found this:
