Office 2000 Word

I

Isgrigg

Recently my Office 2000 Word program quit loading ...

I have rebooted ... Deleted and re-installed the software several times
(which also deletes and reinstalls Excel and PowerPoint with no problem) ...

Word starts to boot up ... shows my name and Serial Number ... switches to a
blank Word page ... but there are no icons or command buttons ... all are
missing ... the program stalls here until you close it ... it then asks if
you want to send an error report to MS with the following information ...

Error Signature
szAppName : WINWORD.EXE szAppVer : 9.0.0.2717 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

C:\DOCUME~1\HP_ADM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER098b.dir00\WINWORD.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\HP_ADM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER098b.dir00\appcompat.txt

Please help ...

I had exactly the same and struggled for ages re-installing etc .
Eventually I found out that I had accepted an optional Microsoft Update -
windows live essentials 1.3 I uninstalled this through Control Panel,
Programs & Features (In Vista) and hey presto Word worked fine again.

Hope this solves your annoying problem.

regards

Steve
