Office 2000

T

Tom M.

I installed office 2000 from my retail CD years ago and updated it to SR-1
when Microsoft released SR-1. I am trying to add a scanner capability to
Word and the installer keeps asking for DATA1.MSI I never had data1.msi
since I installed the update from microsoft's web site. The data1.msi that I
have on my disk and hard drive seems to be incorrect form SR-1. How can I
get the correct copy of data1.msi to install scanner capability with Word.
Thanks

Hi Tom,

There is a Data1.msi file on CD#1 of every 2000 series
MS Office Product. They all use the same name but
not the same content. When you're asked for the CD look
at the bottom of that dialog to see what product it is
asking for. If it's Office 2000 it would be the original
Office 2000 CD. If it's asking for the Word 2000 CD it
may be a MS Works Suite CD#1.
