Yes and no! First your XP system must be running XP SP 2 to install Office
2007.
Can I also...... You can install Office 2007 parallel to Office 2003 by
selecting the do not overwrite existing programs when starting the install.
Only one version of Outlook can be installed at a time so if you want to try
'07 but don't want to corrupt your Outlook '03, make sure you do a custom
install and don't allow the install to install Outlook '07.
Can people..... Yes in one of two ways. If the opening computer has the
compatibility pack

installed, it will open and edit .docx files without too many issues (those
features that aren't included on '03 Word but are on '07 Word won't work
properly.) The creator of the Word (or PPT or Excel) document can do a
Save As an Office '97-03 file format and they can be opened in '03 with any
issue except the previously stated one.
Hope this helps, let us know.
