Office 2003 and blue scans

Just installed Office 2003. Tried to scan an image into PowerPoint using
my Canon lide 80 scanner. Preview is fine but the resulting image
appears mostly blue except for the top left third of the pic. Same in
Word but not in Publisher.

All other imaging programs are fine. It's just the Office 2003 apps
except for Publisher.

I installed the latest canon drivers too.

Running XP SP2

Any ideas guys?

Only a suggestion, scan the image, save and then insert into your Office programs.
Not all scanners are created equal.

I have the same scanner you do with Office 2003 and do not have the problem
you describe. However, I have updated the scanner software and drivers from
the original installation. Suggest you open the CanoScan Toolbox and right
click on the words: CanoScan at the top and select About. If you do not
have version 4.1.3.1, you may want to try updating. May or may not be your
problem.

US Cannon support is: http://www.usa.canon.com/html/conCprTSIndex.jsp

I bought my mom a Canon scanner (it was a VERY inexpensive model) a couple
of years ago. It worked fine for a while and then one day, for no reason, it
started scanning everything in red. I have since heard of others whose Canon
scanner start scanning images in a similar fashion. I wish I could tell you
why but I can't. I did want to let you know that you aren't the first.
