I organised a first time PC for a family member and went for a dell
laptop with windows vista home premium.
as money was tight we installed the office 2007 60 day demo to get the
use of excel and excel worked fine.
However as we needed outlook we bought Office 2003 student and teacher
edition as it was the best value for money. After removing 2007 and
installing it we can`t get excel file association for outlook files.
attachments try to open with adobe reader! In the vista file assocations
part the only option available is adobe and if we try to browse and
select the excel program from the office11 folder it just won`t make the
assocation.
we have had to download open office to get the excel function for
opening attachments. Is this a known problem or have we done something
wrong?
any thoughts would be appreciated.
