Office 2003 annoying auto type feature.

I am running Windows XP pro with Office 2003. I have a MS
MM keyboard.

If I type ' in word it won't show up untill I type
another open quote or the space bar. If I type shift-"A it
comes up with letter a with two dots above it ! It doen't
matter which program I am in. It behaves the same mannar
even in notepad! Does anyone know how to disable this
annoying feature.

Sounds like you need to change the "Input Locale" for Windows XP. Look
in Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Languages, Details and
then set it to the correct one for your country.
