office 2003 basic/access 97

I bought a new computer with office 2003 basic. I assumed
I could install my upgrade edition of access 97 - failed
on looking for a valid product. Any ideas?

Hi Bob,

Access 97 upgrade would need to find one of the products
listed here either installed or you can 'show it' the
CD or diskette for the product during the installation.

It doesn't know how to recognize a product newer than
the 97 version.
