Office 2003 - DOCX Plugin

Hi

Everytime I try to open or save a docx file I get "there was an error
opening the file" I have tried the dos convertor as well and it converts the
file but then Word can't open the file.

Looking at the files in c:\program files\microsoft office\office 12 all the
icons have pictures except the wordconv.exe that has the default icon. Only
mention this as all the other software converts ok - just word that fails.

Not sure what you mean by the "docx plug-in" - do you mean the Office 2007
Compatibility Pack as here:

The compatability pack requires a whole bunch of Windows updates. Have you
installed all of those? That's where I'd start.

Hi

Yes, sorry - it is the compatability pack and I have installed all the
updates from windows update. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Odd how it is only
thw word converter that doesn't work - the rest are fine.
