sounds like a silly response
but did you uncheck the gridelines option
in your printer/printing properties?

good idea.. but the option is/was unchecked.. hmm now i copied via clipboard
into photoshop and there are the lines.. but i want to print with excel :(

thanks for your help

ok, the next thing to try
is to disable gridlines under options..

another is to select the shade of grey
for the dots. your printer may actually
be printing the dots but look like lines.

another test is to see the results using
dashes too.

just cut n paste a small section from
the main sheet into another, that way
you can test the above a bit quicker and
with less paper....

the color was all the time (gray - 25%) - sorry that i have not told you

do you mean because of inkjet?! i tried on a real printer and a pdf
printer.. and in both it is a soild line..

dashes works fine

when you say pdf printer...
do you mean that when you print
the spreadsheet into a pdf file,
the pdf as seen on the screen does not
show dots?

D

DatabaseBen

never mind,
i decided to try it out
and i get solid lines too.

but this shouldn't be and i
have printed dots before...

i'll look into this somemore..

hmm,
didn't really figure out too much
about this.

basically the dots appear as lines
in acrobat pdf and foxit pdf.

but there are dots via
primo pdf and ms document/imaging
program (*.mdi)

didnt' hook up to a physical
printer to see the results.

i am confidnet my printer driver
for the laser will print out the dots.
but will wait n see when and if i
need them in the future.

i am a little surprise of the results
above. it must have been somekind
of update. i wonder if tables in
word using formatted with dots
will result the same...

D

databaseben

yeh, word tables can be formatted with dotted lines and they appear in
acrobat and foxit....
