Before installing office 2003. (I had office xp/2000).when I single click on
word or PowerPoint files I was able to see thumbnail view of that file in
left side of folder. Like background or contents of word documents without
opening it but I can not see now. How can I enable that function in office
2003.is this function supported in office 2003.please let me know. Thanks in
advance.

In the Open dialog, go to the Views icon (looks like a PC window) and click on
the little arrowhead to the right. Click on Preview. Now, in the list of files
you see, hold down Ctrl and click on one. A preview will appear the way that
you are used to. Keep the Ctrl key down and click again to de-select. Then
with Ctrl + click you can preview another file.

Note: Once you select Preview as the View mode, it will stay set, so you only
have to do this once.

Thanks for your reply. What I want to know is how to view (preview)
PowerPoint /word file with out opening it. Like if I single click PowerPoint
presentation/word file in " mydocumenets" it used to show me the
picture/content of the file left hand side without even opening PowerPoint
or word. how can I enable it in office 2003.

This is enabled in Windows, not in Office, since you're using a Windows
window, not, say, an Office open dialog box.

So open My Documents and go to View/Thumbnails. After you do that, go to
Tools/Folder Options and on the View tab, click "apply to all folders" so
that that's the view you'll see the next time you open a Windows window.

contents of the file left side of the folder(picture or word documents
contents).not thumbnail view.like when you single click on any BMP/JPG files
you get view in leftside of that folder, not just as thumnail view.i don't
