OFFICE 2003 FILES DON'T OPEN AFTER FREE OFFICE 2007 TRIAL

I have Office 2003. Office 2007 free trial was downloaded onto my computer.
Everything I opened, was in 2007 not 2003, so I got rid of office 2007. Now,
I can not open any excel or word files by clicking on the file. I have to
open a blank excel or word program, click open and then search for the file
and open it.

Did you do a repair of Office 2003 after removing the trial?

If you installed the latest version of Office then files will open in that
version by default
