Office 2003 Help Files: Internet Explorer Script Error

O

Oliver Robinson

I have just installed Office 2003 Pro, when I access any Office2003 help
files I keep getting the following error message:

Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page

Line: 115
Char: 2
Error: Operation is not allowed when the object is closed
Code: 0
URL:
mk:mad:MSITStore:C:\Program%20\Microsoft%20Office\OFFICE11\1033\vbaof11.chm:/li
nks/ofmscProgrammaticIdentifiers_L.htm

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

Yes/No

If I click on Yes or No the dialog goes away, but when I jump anywhere else
in help the same message reappears. Does anybody know how to fix this ? Note
in IE6 advanced options I have "Disable script debugging" checked and
"Display a notification about every script error" unchecked.

thanks

Oliver

Handle this the same way you'd stop it normally--it's by design.

Tools>Options>Advanced Tab>Disable Script Debugging>Clear Display a
Notification About Every Script Error

You couldn't do anything about them anyway; they info is meant for the Web
Page Designer/Developer.

See this MSKB article:

Scripting Errors When You View Web Pages in IE After Installing Office 2003
