Office 2003 install reboots computer problem

Hi,

I tried to install office 2003 pro on my machine. I picked the compiele
install and i ran it.

I entered all the information, prod key etc. When it got to the 'registery
type libraries' section near the end of the install it rebooted the computer
without notice.

when it restarted i ran setup again and it tells me that the install did not
complete sucessfully. So i clicked continue and it does it again and the
machine is rebooted.

The office apps are there but im not allowed to run them - some have missing
libaries such as vbe6.dll and others simply say 'not installed for this user'
or the like.

what is going on????

is this copy of ms office broken?
