Office 2003 Install

I have Office 97 and now want to install 2003Pro. I have been advised to
delete '97 first. How do I save my contacts so I can transfer then to 2003?

Upgrading or removing Office does not delete your Office files or .pst file.
You can, however, make a full backup prior to any software installation.
Copy your .pst file and, once you have Office installed and open Outlook,
use File->Open to access all of your Outlook Data.
