Office 2003 installation problem

I'm currently using Vista and trying to download/install windows office 2003
from my university but I keep getting this error message "expected version of
product was not found on your system". Obviously I'm not a computer guru b/c
this is probably a simple explanation. Anyone know what I need to do to get
this installed? Thanks!!

Perhaps you are attempting to install an upgrade version?
Maybe also you have a trial version of Office installed, which would need to
be uninstalled first
