Office 2003 Installation Problem

I am running Win2k (SP4) with offXP Pro.
Got a copy (legal one) of Off2003 recently. Installed it
but the setup hung and had to "end task" the
installation. funny thing is i am able to use all the
Off2003 programs without problem even without rebooting.
BUT, when I try to install other programs (eg. Business
Contact), a message indicating that "Error 1704. An
installation for Microsoft Office Professional Edition
2003 is suspended. You must undo changes made by that
installation to continue. Do you wish to undo these
changes?"
Tried different combinations to uninstall and re-install
off 2003 but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

You can not mix the two. When you attempt to install it,
the very first thing MS Office does is check the serial
numbers to see if it's a legal one or not. Remove the
non-legal version and all of it's service packs as well.
Then install the new version and apply all updates. But
first, make sure you backup your system registeries and
create a checkpoint restart just in case.
