Suspended install during setup

We are creating an automated installation of Office 2007 that will uninstall
Office 2000 Pro and install Office 2007. We used the OCT and configured the
installation to be silent. (Basic display level, with the Suppress modal and
No cancel checked.) Per instructions we placed the MSP file the OCT created
in the updates folder. This way we simply have to double click setup.exe and
it will auto apply the MSP changes. However, during a power outage test
during installation of Office 2007, we have come across an issue. By power
outage test, I mean, about half way, we force a power outage by holding the
power button.

The issue we have is when we try to install Office 2007 Pro Plus again to
pick up where it left off, the installation states:
Product: Microsoft Office Shared MUI (English) 2007 -- Error 1704. An
installation for Microsoft Office Access MUI (English) 2007 is currently
suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue.
Do you want to undo those changes?

This is not set to Office Shared MUI as the message states because that
message changes the product name depending on where the Office 2007
installation was at. For example replace Office Shared MUI with Access 2007
MUI.

Does anyone know how to unsuspend the current installation so we can
reinstall Office 2007? Or fix this issue? I know if the setup.exe didn't
have the suppress modal checked, the error would appear and ask to unsuspend
the application, but I would like to know if there is another way around this
issue? Perhaps a command line we can run.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Since I did not receive a reply and can't find anything like this on the web,
I figure that this is an undocumented issue. I resolved this by creating a
work around MSI to install which will unsuspend the suspeneded application.
This is not the solution I wanted to use, but it does the trick that I need
if the power goes out and the installation is interrupted.

However, I would like to report this to MS to investigate and resolve since
it is an issue with their product installation, however, I don't want to be
charged because I already have a solution, so does anyone know how to report
this to MS to get them to look into this problem so they can provide a
solution for others?

I had my PC crash during the install of office 2007, now I can't seem to
either uninstall or resume installation. Any ideas how to fix this issue?
Can somebody post the fix to the Microsoft Office Shared MUI (English) 2007
-- Error 1704.

Where is that location at that you want it posted to? I couldn't find a
command line or anything to undo the issue. The only thing that I could get
to work for me was the MSI.

I actually just stumbled across and easier fix. Drill down into one of the
folders that contains an MSI, or simply start any other MSI, and you will be
prompted to unsuspend the currnet office installation.
Click yes, to the suspended message.
Once you click yes, click Cancel to the installer.
Go back to setup.exe and install Office.

Hope this works for you too.
