office 2003 installation

i will install office 2003 in my laptop. do i have to remove my office
2000 installation first or there's no need for this because the update
is going to be done anyway?

You can do it as Bob I has said and you can also uninstall the Office2000 using your Off2000CD. Then start the Office 2003 Upgrade install and when it asks you for a qualifying media then insert the Office 2000 disk.
