Office 2003 installer screen

We have recently uninstalled Office 2003 Professional and reinstalled with
Microsoft Office Small Business 2003. Updated Patches to SP3. After this
install we get an installer screen on opening each product. It finally opens
ok. How can we stop this installer screen from appearing.

I re-installed Office 2003 several months ago after a complete
rebuild....then when opening Word or Excel I would get the installer then
installing microsoft excel feature. I finally got rid of a similar message
in Word but it persists in Excel. I can click cancel while it is attempting
to install with no problem but haven't found a method to keep it away.

Go To start and run and then type in services.msc
and then search for windows installer right click and make it automatic and
start
the services once that is done
click on start and run and then type in msiexec.exe /unregister click on Ok
and then msiexec.exe /regserver .
you will not get anything on the screen as it is background process
try to open office application you should be able to open without the
windows installer prompt

You are only shutting down the Installer and this will affect the installer from doing it's purpose on all other installs. This is not the way to do it

Hello Peter,
That is not the process to shut down the windows installer , its is the
process to make WI unregister and reregister it again and as a matter of
facct if you go through my steps there is a step to start the windows
installer as well not to close it .
