you probably got the wrong tech :(( or they have not conveyed the proper
message to you.. windows 2003 is not exactly designed for vista. My
impression was that ofc 2k3 was designed mostly with winxp, while 2007 is
targeted for WinXP and vista...,

Furthermore ofc 2k3 is 32 bit not 64 bit - how could one say it was by
design to be run as admin on vista? meanwhile ofc2k3 runs .on xp limited
users without trouble.

there are times, guest account may be prompted to re-install each time to
logon and occasionally for a corrupted power user account; often either
delete and create the problem ID, or restore will help

BTW, I have run into some people who are expert at getting
system/application to work quickly but rather loose on security
consideration. they are great for some emergency situations.

I have a desktop, and am suffering from the same problem. Every time I
boot up, open a program, install something, etc. I get the "windows is
configuring microsft office 2003" box. However, this only happens with
my HP Desktop. I have even formatted my PC and reinstalled it. Same
problem. My desktop does have more than enough power. AMD 64 duo core @
2.4 ghz. 4 GB RAM, Vista Ultimate 64-bit (can also run 32-bit progs.)

When I run it on both my laptops, works fine. Installs smoothly, and
runs great. No problems. Both laptops are duo core with 2 GB RAM. One
is Vista Ultimate 32-bit (Toshiba A100) and the other is 64-bit Vista
Ult. (HP dv9000 series). I can't understand why my desktop is acting
like this.
