I have created an MST file for my Office 2003 deployment.
It works great on a workstation that does not already have
Office installed. However on a computer that has Office
2000 installed (as all of our workstation do), the
installation fails. When I run setuppro from a command
prompt, I discovered that the first thing it does is try
to run setup for a path similar to the path used to
install Office 2000, referencing the MST file used to
install Office 2000.
For troubleshooting purposes, I have modified my Office
2003 MST file to ignore any previous versions of the
Office applications, but that didn't solve my problem.
I've installed Office 2000 without using the MST file,
while still installing my the same administrative install
point, but when I try to install Office 2003 using my MST
file, I get the same result.
Any ideas?
