Office 2003 on a Pentium 3 800....?

hi

I have the choice between Office XP or 2003 (both the same price).

Obviously I would prefer the latest version but it would have to run on a P3
800.

I know MS recommend a P4 for 2003.

Anyone running it successfully on a similar cpu to mine ?

cheers

That's odd. Office XP should be cheaper as it's older.

And what OS is this P3 running?

No they don't. Where on /earth/ did you get this gem of nonsense from? The
MSR for 2003 can be found here
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/proreq.mspx.

Plenty I would have thought considering the requirements. The OS is the
important thing, though...

It's a work-related homeuser license and costs the same for either.

The P3 is currently ME will be running Win XP when I install it (it
has run this before OK).

I've lost the link now but there is somewhere on the MS site it
recommends a P4 for "optimum" performance.

Here's the nearest I can get to the link:

http://kb.indiana.edu/data/amws.ose.help?cust=903214.58693.30

And, if you check the links, you will see the one I gave and the one on that
uni site are identical.
