Office 2003 on a Vista Machine

Ryan

I just purchased a new laptop with the Vista operating system. The laptop
came with a 30 day trial of Office 2007 - I hate it!! I can't find anything
and it takes me 3 times as long to get any work done!

I need to buy office, can I buy office 2003 and install it? Do I have to buy
2007?

Know what you mean Ryan!

You Microsoft guys should have done what I suggested to you all! - You
should have had a tab in the options (options being the big office button
then the *program here* options) for theme. On this tab you could have chosen
the colour scheme and it could have had another little drop down menu whereby
you could choose whether you wanted the 2003 type layout, the 2007 type
layoutor a custom layout. That would have made me buy it!

The thing is, there are too many people who are used to the old layout and
like it. In my opionion anyway!!

You obviously have no idea what you are suggesting if you say "all you had to do was ..." See this blog for information about why that is no trivial consideration:

After you get "page cannot be displayed" in your browser window, just go up
to the Address Bar of that browser window and remove the trailing space at
the end of the address, and then hit the go to button. That'll get you to
where Milly was trying to send you. It's worth it. It's a good read on user
interfaces and such.

Honestly, I was underwhelmed by the user interface of Office 2007 at first.
But I think most people would find a little persistence in learning it to be
generously rewarded. It's better software than Office 2003. (And I really
liked Office 2003, unlike the previous versions, which made my skin crawl.)

Milly,

I clicked on the hyperlink and got the 'page can't be displayed' thingy.
