Office 2003 Outbox message stuck

I stupidly tried to send a message with a gigantic file attached and it is
now stuck in the Outbox folder and cannot be deleted manually. I keep
getting an error message about the message not being sent and to contact my
internet provider but having done that I was told it was a software problem
associated with the file size of my message and that I should contact MS
Support for resolution. How do I get rid of this message? Thanks for your
much needed assistance!

First, try opening the email message that's in your Outbox then close it and
try to delete it then. If that doesn't work, take Outlook offline and try it
then. Or you can open Outlook in safe mode (Start > Run > outlook.exe /safe)
and try that. All kinds of methods are listed here:
