I tried Alt-Tab and all that showed was Outlook, the Windows installer goes
away rather fast. I did notice that in the task manager that Word.exe is open
and running around 14,500k. I took some screen shots of the task manager to
see whats running durring the process, and all I can pick up is Word running.
Anything else I know nothing about.

see whats running durring the process, and all I can pick up is Word running.

I'm still thinking it's a Norton Antivirus problem. Try searching for a
file named OFFICEAV.DLL on the hard drive (be sure to include system and
hidden files/folders in the search options). If you find it, note the
folder where it is located, and use the "regsvr32 /u" method described
in KB329820 to unregister the DLL.

The only other idea I have is that the downloaded file is corrupt, and
maybe downloading it again might help.
