office 2003 programs encounter problem and shutdown

I am running office 2003 on an IBM thinkpad T20 running windows 2000. I can
run outlook for the most part, but everything else runs for a couple of
minutes & then has to shut down. I think that this is probably hardware
related, but since I'm using the S3 Savage/IX integrated video adapter I'm at
a loss as to what to do.
Can anybody help.
