Office 2003 SBE OEM - can I install on laptop and home PC?

N

Nobby

Hi,

I'm about to buy a laptop... and buy an OEM copy of Office 2003 SBE at the
same time.

Having trawled thorugh the Microsoft website, I see that
" In general... Office 2003 or Office XP can be installed on one PC and the
laptop computer used by the user of the one PC. "

Does this statement refer to the full Office SBE, or will I be able to
install the OEM Office 2003 SBE on my home computer as well as the new
laptop?

Thank you for your help.

Best wishes,

Nick.

Nobby,
oem stands for original equipement manufacturer. These versions can only be
installed on the "original equipement", no other device. It is a reseller
version of Microsoft software, and the reseller is responsible for
installation support. To do what you want you'll need at least a retail copy
of Office 2003 SBE.

Thanks, Chris for your quick reply!

I think I've got an OEM copy of Office 97 from years ago.
I assume I would be able to use this to purchase an upgrade version of
Office 2003 SBE.

From the link you gave me, it would seem that having "upgraded" to Office
2003 SBE, I would then be able to install on a laptop and home PC?

Best wishes,

Nick.
