Office 2003 Service Pack 1 for XP not installing?

I have tried to install the SP1 for Office 2003 several times - it always
comes back and says it cannot install. I tried fullfile - same result. I am
on XP - SP2 with all patches in place. Any ideas where to look?

Sorry, I'm not psychic, what does "cannot install" mean?

This probably is because part of your installation files have been
deleted. With MSInstaller, you have to have 1/ the program itself, 2/
the installation files 3/ the mess Installer leaves on your Windows or
Winnt directory (meaning a .2G program requires .6G or some !). Any
thing misses, installing SPs can fail. I suggest you go to Control
Panel, ADD/Remove program, select office 2003, Change, and choose the
repair option. If the repair proceeds Ok, then SP1 should install Ok. If
repair fails, you will have to uninstall (hopefully, it will uninstall)
and reinstall. If uninstalling fails, try installing for the CD but I am
afraid it will also fail and then you need more expert advice than mine
since it will involve messing with the registry.

It errors out sating the the install was unsuccessful. I uninstalled and
reinstalled from teh CD, then immediately applied the SP1 patch with the same
result - however when I bring up the "About ..." from the help it shows the
SP1 installed on Word, Outlook, etc. When I go back to check on patches, it
says I need to install SP1.
