Office 2003 Slowdowns

I have a group of computers in my network that seem to get really slow
at a specific time of the day every day. It ONLY seems to happen when
they are in word, excel or other office applications. The open time of
a folder on the network server seems to be a few minutes. This is only
certain installs as well. I have upgraded the network cables to all
Cat6 as well as run tests on the server side to see if that is the
problem but I have found nothing yet. If you have any thoughts that
could help me out please post them.

Thank you, Erik Westlake

Make sure that all network drive maps are available. If even one map is
off-line (ie. a shared notebook drive not connected and I even had a problem
with a shared CD drive without a CD in it) you will experience this with all
Office 2003 products. Doesn't seem to affect 2002 (XP) or earlier Office
products or any other programs.

All network mappings are available (there are only 2 that both point to
the same server) So if you can think of anything else it would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you for the feed back though.

Well ther backups run at 10:00 PM no where near the time that is
clogging up. But it seems to ONLY be in word and excel documents.
AutoCAD documents are fine, PDF's and so forth. I am the only system
administrator and there is nothing set up to run at that time of the
day on the machines. I will keep looking into it though. anything
else that could help me out would be greatly appreciated.
