Hi y'all,
I use Office Small Business 2007 suites, but I am supprised when I see the
Windows Vista is currently downloading Office 2003 SP3 update into my
computer!
Is this right? Because I'm not installing any components of Office 2003 at
all in my computer...
Everybode having the same update here?

Hi,

I've got the same problem.
I uninstalled Office 2003, got CCcleaner run, deleted all files related to
Office 2003 and in the Windows Update panel,
Sp3 is installed and I can't get rid of that.
How come?
Besides, I got The Microsoft Office Diagnostics run and I'm told that 2
versions of Outlook ( which is not possible, they can't coexist) on my
laptop. I got the Windows Clean Up program and there is no Outlook 2003
listed.
How come?
Thanks for replying.

hi ben,

I'm not an expert on MS Office or Windows OS, but I do believe you have a
bad or corrupted Windows registries there. It is not slowing down your system
or anything bad, except perhaps you'll be downloading updates that you don't
actually need (such as Office 2003 SP3 update). Because Windows Update detect
Office 2003 registries in it's system, probaly left over from the previous
installation you done before.
Hopefully a MVP will help you out here.
Cheers!

Dhow,
Thanks for replying.
No, it is not slowing down my laptop.
But I'd like to get the help of a MVP to fix that.

hi ben,

no problem ^^ glad to be helpful here...
perhaps while you're waiting for a MVP to help you with your issue there,
you might want to fix it yourself with 3rd party software that can clean up
your WindowsXP registry system. There are plenty of those shareware softwares
on the market/internet, they usually provide 30 days try-out before expires
so you may want to try them out.
Cheers and good luck!

Hi Dhow,

Thanks for replying.
I have Vista.
How can I get rid of Sp3 update?
Which 3rd party software are you talking about?
Thanks
Ben

hi ben,

again no problem at all, glad to help you out ^^
Since I had WinXP Pro computers, I always use Registry Cleaner Expert to
clean up my Windows' registry system. A lots of people (who likes to tweak
their computer) say that this act can help your system boot faster and
cleaner, not necessary have to be this particular software though... You can
always try another ones, and find out the best that suit for you.
I use that particular software because it has the highest recommendation and
they keep releasing newer version every time and then; their latest version
already support for Windows Vista (which other softwares haven't). But right
now I haven't use it on my Vista computers yet, because there haven't been
many softwares developed for Vista nowadays ^^.
But Ben, if you already has the Office 2003 SP3 in your Vista system; why
don't you just let it be there for now? Since it already downloaded and
installed anyway...
