Office 2003 Transform over original install - failure???

C

crc.01

HI, I am attempting to deploy differing elements of Office using Transform
files via SMS. The clients already have variuos Offcie apps instlled but I
may be pushing out Access to users who dont already have it on their system.
I have a succesful start of the app which then bombs out during the install
process. Is this possibly related to the currently installed Office not
allowing the additonal apps be installed in this manner?

Thanks in advance

An MST file can only be used for an initial setup.
If you're deploying MS Access standalone after
a MS Office Suite product then you can use an MST
for MS Access 2003, but if you're changing the
deployed feature set from MS Office Professional
(i.e. setting MS Access to 'run from my computer'
state, for example) that has already been deployed
then you'd need to use the Custom Maintenance Wizard
..CMW files from the Office 2003 Resource Kit
http://microsoft.com/office/ork/2003

MSTs with the Custom Installation Wizard are basically
automation mimics for doind an install by hand, while
the Custom Maintenance Wizard mimics going to Add/Remove
Programs in the Windows control panel and changing the
installed features.
