Office 2003 Trial

I wanted to see what the above program looked like so downloaded and
installed it.
I have just uninstalled the program and it has taken Office 2000 which I
previous had installed, with it (ie uninstalled that as well)
I no longer have the old Office 2000 disks.
Any suggestions????
I am seriously pi**ed as I do not want to go handing over another $1000NZ as
you might imagine

Or EBay for replacement, but as already said Office2k is three versions back
Any program for which you don't have installation media, is a disaster
waiting to happen.
And as for useing a beta product on your primary PC......enough said

I assumed RESTORE would undo it, but ..........what can I say....it's a
Microsoft product (complete rubbish - you would have thought I might have
learnt by now).
I should invest more time and energy in open source software.

You're up a very famous creek. Without the CDs there's nothing you can do to
get it back. And since Office 2000 has been a dead issue for a while, you're
only choice is to purchase a full version of a newer version or find an
alternative to Office.

I can understand you are pi$$ed but you should NEVER make a major change to
your system if you can't undo it. You *might* have been okay if you'd put
that trial version of Office in a separate folder but even then there's no
guarantee. Unfortunately the person you really need to be pi$$ed at...is
yourself.

It doesn't matter who the manufacturer of the product is - this could
occur with any installation from any manufacturer.

I am truly sorry this happened to you. All you can really do know is
learn from this mistake - in the future *always* use the Custom
Install option. I can't tell you how many times this has saved me from
making similar mistakes. If you had used the Custom Install option for
Office 2003 you would have found the option to "Keep previous
versions".

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

Probably looking over the cliff edge BEFORE you jump, would be the
better investment, or reading AND heeding cautionary statements. For ANY
software adventure.
